IMPORTANT: Materials submitted are not returned, so no originals, please.
 

• Include your name, address, phone number, email address, and branch along with an SASE if you want the materials returned.
   
• All text should be typed in a 12-point font (preferrably Times New Roman), single-spaced, and aligned to the left. Use the Tab key, not the space bar, for indents. Check text for accuracy and correct spelling.
   
• Artwork and photos should have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi with an average width of 1800 pixels (6 inches) on widest side. Format should be .jpeg (.jpg), .psd, or .tiff. Submit color images. Do not convert to grayscale. Images with small file sizes (indicative of less than 1800 pixels wide) are unusable for magazine publication.
   
• Label all submissions with your name and title of the submission. Rename your camera's digital file name (e.g., DS00965) with a meaningful file name such as JSmith-Waterfalls.jpg. 

Each department editor has the right to accept or refuse submissions. Submission gives the The Pen Woman editor permission to publish your work in The Pen Woman magazine. If the piece has been published elsewhere, it is the individual's responsibility to ensure that she retains the rights to publish in The Pen Woman.

Art Submissions

Please submit photos of works of art on CD in 300 dpi, jpeg or tiff format only. These specs are required for print. Files may be emailed as individual attachments if under 2 MB. Articles about PW artists may be one to two single-spaced pages long and must be written by a Pen Woman. If sending a CD with graphics, please include article. Poetry

36 lines or fewer preferred. Any form or style. Send as MS Word .doc as attached file, embed in an email, or send by snail mail to Treanor Wooten Baring, 650 Diamond Leaf Lane, Houston, TX 77079-6105. Email your submission in MS WORD .doc format to Treanor.

Music Submissions

Deceased Member Notices Submissions

Include the names, date of birth, age, date and place of death, address, branch, classification, offices held, and other information such as what she was known for. For a message of condolence, include the name, address, and relationship of the person to the deceased. Send notices to Christina G.
